Traveling is the way that so many employ their leisure time. Choosing the location, plotting it on the map, determining where to stay and what to do are all a part of the excitement of travel.

Many, as I do, enjoy playing golf wherever their travel takes them. Once I know where I am off to, whether it is for a business trip or leisure, I hit the internet and see what golf courses are in the area, and begin to make a tentative plan.

If your travels bring you to Arizona, you will find an abundance of golf courses. The Tucson area continues to grow and the courses are great there. The rates are $20-$70 during the summer and $35-$200 during the winter. The Phoenix metro area has over 250 golf courses and there isn't a day that you cannot get a tee-time. Rates in the Phoenix metro area are $14-$85 during the summer and $29-$250 during the winter. One of the finest Public Courses is Papago. The length is 7,000 yards from the Championship tees and this course is challenging. Papago is used as a qualifying course for the Phoenix Open.

On average, you can golf in the Phoenix metro area about 361 days a year.

In the future on this site, you will find golf and travel recommendations for all parts of the United States and for some foreign leisure areas as well.

Keep strokin.
